This Premium Tutorial is Filled with Creative Tips

In this two-part tutorial (see Part 2 on Vectortuts now) author Mark Mayers will show how to create a magazine cover with maximum shelf appeal. This tutorial is a little special – because it’s the first one to demonstrate fully how to incorporate the Color-Logic metallic set of plug-ins into your everyday workflow. Color-Logic enables you to add hundreds of metallic colors and special print finishes into your artwork. In today’s tutorial you’ll not only create a stunning piece of cover art – you’ll also use a Photoshop action to convert it into a metallic image, then apply special metallic swatches to take it to another dimension.

Author Mark Mayers is a talented designer and illustrator from the UK. He has worked as a designer and creative director for several design/advertising agencies and specializes in print, branding, packaging, and exhibition graphics. Mark began his career when the tools of the trade were markers, layout pads, and most importantly, the ability to draw, but he embraced the digital revolution in the early 90′s and swapped his drawing board for a Mac. Today, Mark freelances from his studio in Cornwall for such clients as American Express, BMW, Future Publishing, IDG Communications and Imagine Publishing. Log in or Join Now to get started!
